Lessons lay a foundation in a wide range of musical skills, while focusing on the individual student's areas of musical interest. Mr. Campbell offers lessons for children 6 years of age and older, teens and adults.

Lessons for Children: Lessons for children include many fun off-the bench activities. Students should not have to sit still at a bench for their entire lesson after they have already had to sit through school. Playing card and board games to improve music reading skills and learn about music theory is a regular part of lessons. Kids release their wiggles through kinesthetic rhythm exercises using full-body movements and drums.
Lessons focus on building strong music reading skills, playing expressively, learning basic technique gestures, understanding the building blocks of music and developing musical creativity. Scales and chords are explored at an age-appropriate level and applied to improvisation and composition. Scales and chords give students a sense of achievement, and can be learned much earlier than they are traditionally taught in method books.
Lessons for Teens
Teens are given many choices in their lessons to give them independence and make sure that they are making headway towards their goals. Lessons for teens are very focused on the individual student's goals. Teens are ready to delve deep into specific areas of music that catch their interest, making lessons for teens look very different from student to student at PianoMusicality. Impressive sounding repertoire is chosen with the student's input to provide teens cool pieces that they can perform for their friends.
Lessons for Adults
Lessons for adults are designed around the adult student's goals. Familiar pieces are chosen that the adult student enjoys. Which musical activities are covered in the lesson is determined fully by the adult student's interests. Reading music with simple left hand chords is introduced early on, so that adults can play richer, fuller sounding music in their first few months of lessons. Learning to play piano is a rewarding activity at any age.
