
Colin Campbell Educator and Pianist
Colin Campbell has over a decade of piano teaching experience and continually seeks to provide the best music education to his students. He is part of a growing international movement of teachers seeking to motivate their students with engaging creative activities, music theory games, and rewarding music to play at every level. Mr. Campbell continues his professional development by taking online piano teaching courses, reading piano teacher’s blog posts, and listening to piano teaching podcasts.
Studying advanced piano performance and piano pedagogy while completing his BSBA from Thomas Edison State University, Colin graduated in 2020. He studied piano, music theory, voice and improvisation from several dedicated teachers, and completed a one-year piano teaching internship, where he had the opportunity to teach students under his mentor’s oversight. He spent five years studying advanced piano performance, advanced piano technique, and piano pedagogy with Sharon Vold, who studied with the highly esteemed Dr. J. Earl Lee for 9 years after receiving her master’s degree in music.
Colin is active as a collaborative pianist and piano soloist in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. His work includes music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods, including folk, light jazz, and Broadway pieces. His repertoire includes both sacred and secular works.
Mr. Campbell has served as pianist for Eagle Heights Presbyterian Church for over 12 years, and additionally serves as a collaborative pianist for soloists and ensembles at the church. He is the founder of the Eagle Heights Singers, an a cappella ensemble at his church. He is a bass singer with the Blue Ridge Singers which presents choral performances in the local area in December and April each year.
